Sharon Samuels, AIA, NOMA
Sharon Samuels is a Chicago-based filmmaker, architect, and art director whose creative practice spans film, television, architecture, and photography. Her film career began in 2016 as a set designer, and she has since contributed to numerous productions in roles ranging from Set Designer and Assistant Art Director to Art Director — including acclaimed projects such as Dope Thief, Lovecraft Country, and multiple seasons of The Chi.
In 2017, she produced her first short film, Inside the Box: The Story of Boxville, a finalist in the AIA's I Look Up Film Festival. In 2024, she founded bluprnt.359, a media company dedicated to producing original fiction and non-fiction content for screens large and small, and print.
A longtime advocate for design education, Sharon volunteers with youth programs that introduce students to design thinking and open doors to creative careers they might not otherwise discover. Outside of work, she is passionate about history, culinary experiences, and culturally centered activities — and is a runner and triathlete whose marathon PR of 3:59 is quietly embedded in her company's name
